Senior Staff Nurse

B7 is an acute respiratory ward which also has a dedicated 4 bedded high care area for patients who require acute Non Invasive Ventilation. The successful candidate will continue to build on their skills and knowledge to care for patients who require specialist respiratory support. This role will also support you in developing your leadership skills as you will be expected to co-ordinate the ward, and support junior members of the team.
B7 is the only medical ward outside of the critical care directorate that manages patients who require acute non-invasive ventilation. As a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse you will be expected to manage the Acute Non invasive Ventilation bay and provide support to the staff you are working with. You will be supported in your ongoing development.
B7 offers a respiratory training programme that includes the management of tracheostomies, laryngectomies, chest drains and education in respiratory conditions. There is significant input from a range of specialist nurses such as the Home Ventilation Team, Community Respiratory Resource Unit, Acute Oncology and Lung Cancer Specialist Nurses offering opportunities for learning and shadowing.
