Senior Staff Nurse - Children's Emergency Department

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their clinical knowledge of ED nursing and be able to translate this into effective nursing practice in a leadership role within this challenging environment. They will need to be highly motivated, energetic, hardworking, proactive, as well as committed to their own professional development.
The Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse will:
+ Act as an independent practitioner whilst providing advanced clinical practice in the assessment and management of patients in the Emergency Department.
+ Demonstrate an advanced level of leadership and operational management, ensuring nursing and medical staff at all levels feel supported.
+ Independently manage the Department on a shift to shift basis in the absence of a Band 7 Senior Sister.
+ Assist in the development of educational needs of all staff and will act as a clinical mentor to junior staff.
+ Advise on the promotion of health and prevention of illness, The person specification below is not the full person specification, but outlines the criteria against which your application form will be assessed.
