Full Job Description

The band 6 SLT is a specialist member of the SLT team and is responsible for the delivery of a high quality, comprehensive SLT service for UHBW. This clinical workload is augmented by a variety of teaching and training activities. The post holder will provide support to the inpatient pathway with a focus on neurology, older people, and general medicine. They will be responsible for delivering SLT assessment, diagnosis and treatment of adults with swallow and communication difficulties. This includes :

  • Expert SLT advice for individually referred inpatients within the pathway
  • The provision of evidence-based information and support relating to communication and swallowing difficulties
  • Managing a caseload independently with the support and supervision of clinical leads
  • The post holder will work 2 bank holidays per year

    an SLT who is keen to continue developing specialist skills in managing adult inpatients with general medical, neurological and age-related conditions. We run a weekly videofluoroscopy clinic and FEES service. You will be joining our large and inclusive team of 31 SLTs across UHBW sites with a focus on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care for the communities we serve.
