Full Job Description

  • Take charge of the shift and manage patient flow safely and efficiently.
  • Engage with families over telephone using excellent communication skills.
  • To act as an advocate for the child and family, ensuring the provision of appropriate information and support services.
  • Communicate effectively promoting open and trusting relationships.
  • Navigate patient care working alongside the multidisciplinary team & other services in HCA, to provide the best care for the patient.
  • To liaise with multidisciplinary teams to safeguard children & families.
  • To take part in clinical audits and assist in the development and review of policies.

    NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support.
  • Safeguarding Level 3 training.
  • Must have experience working within a paediatric A&E or UCC with experience in performing minor procedures such as plastering, wound care and performing ECGs.
  • Ideally experience in Manchester Triage or evidence of a Paediatric assessment course.
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical governance and experience with audits.
  • Experience of shift leading & co-ordination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ideally venepuncture & cannulation skills.
