We're looking for a Senior Supervisor to join our Transportation team based in Naval Row / Edmonton, The TfL tunnels and pump station team undertake maintenance of mechanical, electrical and control systems for 10 London road tunnels and 107 pump stations, as well as renewals, intelligent transport systems, safety inspections and cleaning. Location: Naval Row / Edmonton, London
Hours: 45 hours per week - Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent - Full time
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Supervisor, you'll be working within the Maintenance team, supporting them in overseeing the day-to-day activities undertaken by the shift supervisors and ensuring the effective management of the TfL tunnels and pump stations (TaPS) contract, liaising with transport fleet management to ensure the availability of fleet for all operational requirements.
Your day to day will include:
- Maintaining effective planned preventative maintenance programmes in accordance with the client specifications, good practice and regulatory compliance for all tunnels and pump station assets, overseeing shift supervisors day to day activities checking the effective planned coordination of works are in place for all PPM and reactive maintenance works,supporting ongoing resource management in line with the planned coordination of works, for plant, equipment and personnel, for all activities, including updating the shift rota
- Reviewing safe systems of work and risk assessments maintaining SHE compliance for all Kier and SCP activities, reviewing operational team documentation deliverables confirming compliance with KPI requirements
- Carrying out regular management tours of site activities checking the delivery of the inspection regime reporting both good practices and short falls, reviewing supply chain documentation deliverables, identifying and raising opportunities for improvement, and also defects, which are to be repaired under core services, liaising with stakeholders regarding the repair of defects within the defects correction period, reviewing and approving supply chain technical proposals, planning and coordinating site works, reviewing and approving site works on completion
- Communicating internally and externally including the cascading and upwards reporting of information, promoting a culture of openness in the team, checking the availability of sufficient and competent resources for maintenance and operations activities within the assigned areas of responsibility, delivering the annual cyclic maintenance programme through team managers, working closely with the Training Coordinator facilitating the efficient delivery of all training requirements for the TaPS team also working with the Senor Maintenance Engineer developing the weekly work schedules, covering all planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities for distribution to the shift supervisors
- Providing TfL frequent updates regarding the status of planned preventative maintenance activities, incident management, fault management, and ongoing reactive repairs for tunnels, outstations, and pump stations
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Supervisor is great for you if:
- Applicable electrical / mechanical engineering qualification, City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition – Wiring Regulations BS7671:2008, BTEC Level 5 – HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering, NHSS 8 / HERS Qualified Supervisor, G39 Working in the Vicinity of DNO Equipment, Safe Isolation, SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) and CSCS / CITB in health and safety, with a full driving licence to visit sites / depots
- An appropriate knowledge of electrical, mechanical, traffic management, automated monitoring / control systems and construction works needed to ensure the smooth running of the tunnels
- Experience in the day-to-day operational procedures regarding all maintenance and temporary / reactive works at a senior supervisory level and have a proven excellence in leadership skills of employees, the ability to work under pressure and be capable of making on the spot decisions, but also having good judgment skills
