The Metrology Laboratory is run by Gateshead Council on behalf of the 5 Tyne and Wear authorities of Sunderland, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Gateshead.

About the role….
You will be working as a Senior Support Assistant based in the Metrology Laboratory which provides
calibration services, support, and advice to industry as well as to local authority Trading Standards
services. You will be the be expected to provide a high level of customer service working in accordance with our UKAS quality system. You'll be responsible for producing certificates and test reports to accompany calibrated equipment. Other duties will include using the council's financial software system to raise customer invoices and purchase orders as well as arranging payment of incoming invoices. Other routine tasks include, booking in items for calibration and operating the public weighbridge.
