  • Want to empower young parents to thrive, build independence, and make a lasting impact on their futures? At Railway Meadows, we provide accommodation-based support to 13 young parents (aged 16-24), helping them to overcome challenges during early parenthood. This supported living scheme offers a safe environment where young parents receive support to enable move on to their own tenancy in the future. As a Senior Support Worker, you'll make a lasting impact by guiding these young parents through the early stages of parenthood, ensuring they develop the skills needed for independent living. You'll play a key role in shaping their futures, from helping them navigate the complexities of parenting by introducing and sign posting to multi professional teams, whilst also providing support, advice and practical help in managing a tenancy. Your Impact in the Role: Support Delivery: Provide unsupervised support to promote independence so that successful move on can take place. Support Planning: Lead the creation and management of support plans and risk assessments, ensuring they meet residents' needs and are reviewed regularly. Collaborative Support: Work closely with internal / external housing colleagues and external professionals to deliver tailored comprehensive support and assess residents' progress toward independence ensuring a successful move-on. Crisis Management: Respond to and manage crises effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents. Health & Safety: Ensure a safe environment by leading health and safety procedures and overseeing compliance with safeguarding policies.

    Support Planning & Risk Assessment: Strong experience in creating and managing support plans and conducting risk assessments. Person-Centered Approach: A commitment to treating residents with dignity, focusing on their individual needs and aspirations. Crisis Management: The ability to manage crises effectively, maintaining a calm and responsive approach. Communication & IT Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in IT for record-keeping and support plan updates. Passion for Care: Genuine interest in supporting young parents and their children, helping them develop essential skills for independent living. Health & Safety Awareness: Maintain a safe environment and are knowledgeable about health and safety standards, including lone working procedures and safeguarding.     As a requirement of the role, you will be working in the service five days a week (Monday to Friday). There will be occasions when weekend working may be required. The hours are flexible between the core hours of 9am to 6pm, as long as the hours fit the needs of the service requirement. Why Work for L&Q Living?
