Full Job Description

The role will have an asset management focused role relating to the Councils Industrial portfolio. This will include, but is not limited to lease events, asset management including landlord and tenant work. Additional work may include acquisition, disposal, valuation and agency across all commercial property sectors.

The Property Team: At this exciting time, Newcastle City Council is looking to recruit a talented and well-connected property professional to join its Property Team and help shape the future of the city. The team plays a vital role in driving Newcastle's economic growth and regeneration by using council assets to achieve its strategic objectives, in turn benefitting both local residents and visitors to the city. It manages an extensive mixed commercial portfolio of offices, industrial, retail, leisure and heritage assets that generates an annual income in excess of £12m pa with a capital value of circa £290m. We have a proud record of success, playing an integral role working with our partners Newcastle University and Legal & General in the delivery of the internationally renowned Newcastle Helix - a landmark 24-acre hybrid city quarter, built for international tech and science businesses dedicated to helping us all live better lives. We also own, manage, and operate The Core and the Lumen on the site. Working with our Joint Venture partners PfP-igloo and Homes England, the team has helped deliver the award-winning Malings - a sustainable community consisting of 76 low energy, eco-friendly homes, and more recently completed Lower Steenberg Yard scheme in the Ouseburn. Working alongside PfP-igloo, we will deliver Phase 2 of Founders Place. This Joint Venture, launched in 2020, will culminate in the development of the remaining plots, including several listed buildings, to provide a business space for creative, hi-tech and digital businesses, as well as exceptional city centre homes and public realm. Working with key stakeholders and businesses, we are helping to deliver the £50m City Centre Transformation Programme, transforming this prestigious public realm to create a safer, greener and healthier space for all; and the intrinsically linked project to reawaken of the Grainger Market, following a successful bid to the Government's Levelling Up Fund.
