Our Risk and Compliance function has a critical role to play in supporting, challenging, and advising across all areas of the business through establishing policy, monitoring profiles, and identifying and managing forward-looking risk and compliance. We focus on creating an environment that encourages our people to speak up and do the right thing, as well as protecting our customers, the organisation and the integrity of the financial markets in which we operate. Already an industry-leader in many respects, we want to continue setting standards and evolving to respond to strategic changes.

  • Work with other stakeholders in the development and execution of activities aligned with the identification and mitigation of such risks

  • Support Head of Policy with review, development, update or writing of new policies applicable to Global Business (GB) and Commercial Banking (CMB) customers and other business areas

  • Provide close collaboration with its 3 main stakeholders: Global Banking and Markets; Commercial Banking; and Risk

To be successful in this role you should meet the following:

  • Deep understanding of sustainability risks and/or policies is required with experience in CMB or GBM preferred

  • Understanding of control environments and Helios usage and a good grasp of risk management frameworks, the lines of defence and an appreciation of environmental, climate change and human rights issues with a good understanding of the associated risks across different industries

  • Ability to write concise, simple but effective polices and / or procedures on issues that may contain many underlying technical complexities

  • Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail with an ability to understand, consolidate and distil diverse and complex sources of information

  • Confident in your approach with excellent communication and negotiation skills
