Full Job Description

The Firm's Tax Department is responsible for providing tax compliance services to the firm, its partners and employees, including corporate tax, personal tax, international tax for our inbound and outbound project workers and assignees, benefits reporting, and VAT compliance.

This is an opportunity to join our team in a supportive agile-working environment, using your existing tax compliance skills and gaining experience in an in-house/internal tax team to take forward in your career., We are looking for an experienced tax assistant to work in our Business Taxes team. A core part of the role will be as follows:

  • Preparation of the partnership tax computation using Onesource.

  • Preparation of the corporation tax accounting disclosures, computations and returns using Onesource.

  • Review of follow up queries and correspondence with internal and external parties.

  • Liaising with the finance team to enable collection and analysis of data.

  • Prepare branch tax returns for overseas offices.

  • Calculate required quarterly instalment payments for review and liaise with treasury and the payment team for payment. Monitor HMRC portal to ensure payments made correctly.

  • Prepare other tax payments for corporates and branches.

  • Collate CbCR information from overseas offices, prepare the return for review and submit.

  • Assist in the ongoing development of tax analysis tools

  • Assist ad-hoc projects such as withholding tax and capital allowances

  • Prepare written communication with HM Revenue & Customs

  • Ensure deadlines are met on all deliverables and that suitable controls are in place


  • You will receive continuous on the job training as well as ongoing supportive feedback as part of our structured performance management process.

  • Relevant experience of working in a Business Taxes environment

  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team

  • Good attention to detail and high level of accuracy in your work

  • Ability to use initiative, communicate with stakeholders at all levels and use your research skills to resolve problems

  • Ability to follow and enhance existing process notes


  • Essential:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work

  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload

  • Proficient in the use of Excel and Outlook

  • ATT qualified or have equivalent experience

    The role available is within the Business Taxes Team who are primarily responsible for the completion and submission of the firm's business tax returns, including the main partnership tax computation, and corporate tax returns for subsidiary companies and foreign branches of the Deloitte LLP group, as well as other aspects of business tax compliance including the calculation and payments of payments on account and CbyC reporting.
