Full Job Description

We Support Limited is an established Supported Living provider dedicated to providing a creative, happy, and secure environment for young people with learning disabilities across Cheshire and Trafford. We support young adults (16 - 65) with learning disabilities, using a Positive Behaviour Support Approach. We currently have 15 home-from-home, and each of the homes has there individual staff team of support workers. All of our services are 24-hour support services where staff will work with the same person/people each week in the same house in order to build a strong, trusting, and caring relationship. We are not a domiciliary care company. Employees will generally work at one location and do not do "house visits" traveling between services, The successful Senior Team Leader leads the operational house team of Support Workers to provide person-centered care to young adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex health and social needs. In addition, they will ensure staff have the resources and support to provide the level and quality of service required day to day, plus the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the service. As well as providing direct care and support, the Senior Team Leader is required to act as a mentor and coaching support on key operational tasks for the team. Being visible and accessible is paramount.

  • Demonstrable experience and working within a similar setting
  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of Ofsted Quality standards and all relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the field
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working as a support worker with young adults with learning disabilities and complex needs who can demonstrate challenging behaviours; minimum of 2 years
  • Strong experience in managing a staff team; and training staff within a care setting minimum of 1 year of experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to write and maintain reports; support programmes, activity plans and keep a record of petty cash
  • The ability to record and communicate with parents/staff/other professionals; collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the well-being of individuals
  • Flexible approach providing additional support to the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager; quality assurance checks
  • The ability to promote a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals
  • Provide support and assistance to individuals with learning disabilities; assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically being flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of individuals
  • A full clean UK driving license is required; as access to Motability vehicles
