Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced developer to fulfil a role within the Technical Operations Application Support Team for the NR’s ERP application, Oracle E-Business Suite. Although not essential the following technical skillsets would be desirable.

  • Oracle Application Framework
  • Java/Javascript
  • PL/SQL
  • Cascading Style Sheets
  • Oracle Application Express
  • About the role (External) To design, develop and maintain customisations and extensions to supported applications.
  • To design, develop and maintain customisations and extensions to the supported applications as required by project and production support teams
  • Analyse and tune existing customisations and provide supporting documentation that is accurate and conforms to Network Rail Standards
  • Assess the impact of patches and technical upgrades upon customised code and provide solution options
  • Resolve support issues within the production environment as required
  • Identify and develop code to be used in a common code library.
  • Provide technical advice and consultancy to IM and the business

    Development and implementation experience in the application / technology supported
  • Strong design skills; works closely with analysts and technical support team to explore different technical design approaches and make design recommendations to fit high-level business requirements
  • Ability to manage activities with short due dates while still following established change control processes
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation.
  • Identified Subject Matter Expert within a technical area of expertise (for example, middleware, oracle, Microsoft, mobile, ERP, Java etc.
