Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Engineering Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £30,559 - £33,366 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

You will join a developing drainage design team and work on several small to medium size drainage maintenance projects. You will assist in the provision of frontline services relating to drainage and flood risk, such as investigating and reporting on flooding incidents, assisting with the organisation of planned and reactive maintenance works and advising elected officials and members of the public on matters relating to drainage and flood risk management.

The successful applicant will also help manage and develop Term Service Contracts currently in operation and assist in the delivery of statutory functions as part of the Lead Local Flood Authority.

The role requires you to be responsible for carrying out investigations and inspections and maintaining accurate construction records. You will be required to undertake regular visits to construction sites and contractor / developer offices.

1. A relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example, BTEC in Engineering or related subject.
2. Awareness of the principles in the production and interpretation of technical drawings.
3. The ability to carry out independent research into legislation, regulations, standards and guidance and apply research to problem solving.
4.A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to undertake site visits, attend meetings and conferences., Disability Confident
