An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician/Science Manufacturing Technician. The successful candidate will deputise for the Production Manager in being responsible for the day-to-day oversight of workload within our MHRA licensed chemotherapy manufacturing unit. This post offers a fantastic career opportunity for someone who is looking to further their aseptic expertise within a lead/managerial role. Our small, yet busy Pharmacy Production Unit provides an essential service to the patients within the Chesterfield Royal Hospital via both, in-house manufacturing and outsourcing from external suppliers. The candidate appointed to this role will play a crucial part in ensuring that these patients receive the highest standard of care possible., Key result areas of the job include:

  • To deputise for the Production Manager when required.
  • Working alongside the Unit Co-ordinator to manage workload and appropriately distribute staff to ensure an efficient, high quality service is provided.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Quality Management System (QMS). Including participation in deviation, error and change management.
  • To supervise and participate in aseptic manufacturing activities.
  • Ensuring all staff are aware of and adhering to SOPs at all times and complying with GMP and MHRA guuidelines.
  • To ensure that all routine environmental monitoring and maintenance activities are carried out appropriately.
  • To participate in training of staff at all levels within the department.
  • To manage stock control systems within the department to ensure adequate stocks are maintained and be responsible for completion of stock takes and reconciliation.
