Senior Tendering Engineer

The Trainee Tendering Engineer is an ideal role for a candidate with entry-level CAD skills and electrical knowledge looking to progress through a career in High Voltage electrical design for new connections. Alternatively, this could be a field-based technician looking to transition into a new career. This role will be responsible for the development of design drawings to support all stages of electrical connection projects, including initial layouts, tendering, construction drawings and as-laids.

Main Duties

-Preparing base drawings and electrical connection layouts in CAD.

-Undertaking measurement drawings.

-Working with the Project Managers to help with construction drawings and as-laids.

-Preparing and submitting tenders and quotations for work.

-Inviting and collecting quotations from material suppliers and subcontractors.

-Occasionally, visiting potential sites to survey in order to prepare subsequent tenders., Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting buying opportunities.

-Participate in training and development activities as appropriate.

-Apply fundamentals of Health & Safety when preparing quotations.

Communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form.

-Work independently and organise complex analytical tasks.

-Research materials, equipment and labour costs., Keen to learn and develop.

-Work as part of a team and learn from colleagues.

-Organised and good time discipline.

-Attention to detail.

-Some experience of CAD.

-Good knowledge and proficiency of Excel

-Electrical knowledge desirable
