Full Job Description
This is a part time role, 28.5 hours per week, working 3 days, between Monday and Saturday 07:45 17:45. You will work 1 Saturday per month., As a Senior Theatre Practitioner you will:
- Work primarily as a scrub practitioner, occasionally being required to work as an anaesthetic and / or recovery practitioner.
- Lead and mentor junior members of the team, deputising for the Lead Theatre Practitioner when necessary.
- Communicating effectively with other departments e.g. Sterile Services, Wards, and Imaging department to ensure efficient patient care.
- Preparing operating and anaesthetic rooms for surgery as required. To include equipment and supplies required for specific procedures, ensuring appropriate use of resources and minimal waste.
- Ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control are carried out.
- Assessing patient care requirements, implementing care and evaluating outcomes.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Theatre Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our AfPP accredited Theatres team as a Senior Theatre Practitioner.
As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary Theatres team, working to ensure a high standard of clinical care and safety for patients within the theatre unit.
This role is ideally suited to a registered practitioner (Nurse or ODP) with proven experience working in scrub, anaesthetics and / or recovery, who is looking to progress their perioperative career in a clinical environment that will support your ongoing professional development to help you operate at your fullest potential.
