Full Job Description

This is a part time role, 28.5 hours per week, working 3 days, between Monday and Saturday 07:45 17:45. You will work 1 Saturday per month., As a Senior Theatre Practitioner you will:

  • Work primarily as a scrub practitioner, occasionally being required to work as an anaesthetic and / or recovery practitioner.

  • Lead and mentor junior members of the team, deputising for the Lead Theatre Practitioner when necessary.

  • Communicating effectively with other departments e.g. Sterile Services, Wards, and Imaging department to ensure efficient patient care.

  • Preparing operating and anaesthetic rooms for surgery as required. To include equipment and supplies required for specific procedures, ensuring appropriate use of resources and minimal waste.

  • Ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control are carried out.

  • Assessing patient care requirements, implementing care and evaluating outcomes.

  • We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Theatre Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our AfPP accredited Theatres team as a Senior Theatre Practitioner.

    As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary Theatres team, working to ensure a high standard of clinical care and safety for patients within the theatre unit.

    This role is ideally suited to a registered practitioner (Nurse or ODP) with proven experience working in scrub, anaesthetics and / or recovery, who is looking to progress their perioperative career in a clinical environment that will support your ongoing professional development to help you operate at your fullest potential.
