Full Job Description

As a senior member of the Trading Standards Team, you will enforce the full range of Trading Standards functions with specialist roles in the Food Standards and Metrology disciplines and management responsibility for the inspection programme for Food Standards.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our Trading Standards Team.

This post is designated as "agile", allowing for a mix of home working and office-based working.

We are looking for a highly professional Senior Trading Standards Officer with a commitment and passion for Trading Standards work.

The successful candidate will be a flexible, creative and supportive team player with excellent communication skills and a thorough understanding of the Trading Standards landscape and all relevant legislation.

You will be involved in a range of Trading Standards work where you will play a key role in ensuring that our statutory duties and key priorities are met, particularly in relation to Food Standards.

As a senior member of the team you will be required to hold the Diploma in Trading Standards (or a recognised equivalent) including Food Standards and Metrology, qualification as a Lead Assessor, and be able to demonstrate significant post qualification experience. Feed Hygiene experience is also advantageous and a commitment to CPPD is also expected.
