Full Job Description

As a Senior Trading Standards Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of a range of statutory and non-statutory public protection duties. This will include conducting inspections at a variety of premises, with a focus on those with the medium to high-risk ratings to ensure compliance with all relevant public protection legislation. Additionally, you will provide expert advice, guidance and support to colleagues, while providing specialist legal advice to Wiltshire-based businesses to help them meet regulatory requirements.

Our ideal candidate will hold a degree in Environmental Health or Trading Standards, along with post-qualification experience that demonstrates specialist knowledge in Food Standards. The ability to interpret complex Food Standards legislation and showcase a proven track record of handing high-level responsibilities. Strong planning and organisational skills as well as in-depth knowledge of specialized areas of law and legal processes will be essential.
