Full Job Description

The London Borough of Bromley's Traffic Engineering Team is committed to using creative and innovative measures to resolve the borough's traffic and parking issues. The team is responsible for the design, proposal, consultation and implementation of projects such as new pedestrian crossings, controlled parking zones, local parking restrictions, traffic signal-controlled junctions, zebra crossings, and other varied measures to contribute to a safer road network within the borough. These measures often require site investigation at a local level with a view to assessing potential problems and workable solutions. We are seeking to fill a vacancy for a Senior Engineer post.

This is a role for a confident, knowledgeable, and experienced individual who is keen to take up a new challenge and further their career in Traffic and Parking. The successful candidate will be responsible for site investigation of parking queries, responding to queries, and designing, and implementing traffic and parking schemes. As a member of the team, you will maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and assist in providing professional engineering advice and comments to members of the public and other agencies relating to the Council's Parking Authority duties.

Your responsibilities
1. You will design and manage all aspects of traffic and parking schemes
2. You will conduct site investigations and respond to queries from councillors, residents, and other major stakeholders
You will need the following.

1. A background in Transportation, Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering or similar subjects and a good knowledge of traffic design standards
2. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide range of people at all levels including the public and elected Members.
3. A working knowledge of AutoCAD is essential.

Neway is looking for a Senior Traffic and Parking Engineer to join our client based with Bromley Council.

This role is starting on the 14th of October, working 36 hours a week in an ongoing contract.
