Full Job Description

The Band 7 Senior Transfer Practitioner (Senior TP) is accountable and responsible for the delivery and management of a Retrieve sub-regional base. They will promote and monitor safe and effective practice, enhance the patient experience, and provides effective leadership and management contributing to the delivery of the service.

The Senior Transfer Practitioner will:

- Deputise and support the Lead Nurse

- Be responsible for professional day to day clinical leadership and operational management of their base. Working with the other base Senior Transfer Practitioner to ensure effective running of the service.

- Act as a leader and role model, adopting a flexible approach in a role which encompasses leadership, management and clinical responsibilities.

- Promote and monitor a safe work environment.

- Responsible for the implementation of audit, quality and risk management initiatives in the service.

There will be an expectation to continue to further develop clinical skills and continue to in a clinical role for 50% of their time.

A Senior Transfer Practitioner would be expected to act as a role model, demonstrating strong leadership skills and deputising for the Lead Nurse as required. They would be accountable for overseeing the rota, and managing staffs contracted hours and well as the implantation and monitoring of audit and quality initiatives.

Working closely with the Retrieve Leadership Team, including leads for Governance, Audit and Research, as well as the education team.

The Senior TP will play a vital role in the development, improvement, management and promotion of the service, delivering high quality critical care in transfer across the south west.

Working collaboratively with the multi-professional team, the Senior TP will act as a professional role model, setting standards of practice and promoting clinical effectiveness., welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
