Full Job Description

You'll be a vital part of our leadership team, ensuring smooth and efficient transport operations across the business. This is a permanent, full time position based from our head office in Sevenoaks, Kent.

The duties of the Senior Transport Manager role will include:

-Working closely with the Director of Operations to ensure the safe and efficient running of the transport operation

-Responsibility for managing a large team, including Compliance Managers, Transport Managers and Planners

-Liaising with governing bodies (Logistics UK, CLOCS, LLCS) to represent FM Conway in governance proposals and industry developments

- Ensuring compliance with the companies operator licence in line with traffic commissioner requirements

- Overseeing the specification and ordering of new Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), liaising with internal business divisions and vehicle manufacturers

- Monitoring Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS)

- Accountable for the division's financial performance, including setting strategic budgets and ensuring they are consistently met to drive profitability

You will have extensive experience in managing a large transport fleet and team and a strong background in the transport industry, with in-depth market knowledge. You will hold a valid and up to date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for Transport Managers and a full UK driving license. You will have the ability to lead from the front, make strategic decisions, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders.
