Senior Trauma and Orthopaedic Knee Fellow

The post holder will be required to work flexibly within the department but will predominantly work with Mr A. Porteous, Mr D Clark, Miss N Blucher & Mr J. Murray.
Prior experience in knee arthroplasty and arthroscopy is essential for this post. The post will provide exposure to both soft-tissue, arthroscopic and arthroplasty knee surgery.
The post is aimed at final year Registrars or senior trainees awaiting Consultant jobs. A requirement of this post is to submit one paper to a peer-reviewed journal during the fellowship.

Senior Clinical Fellow (SpR level) in Knee Surgery - ST7+ Post CCT, Candidates must have, or be eligible for, GMC registration that allows them to work in posts that are not recognised for training. If in a training post this post is recognised for off programme training. Successful candidates will undergo training appraisal and assessment.
It is desirable that candidates have experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or an equivalent system., Wide exposure to all techniques of knee surgery with progression from assisting to operating depending on skills displayed,
Must publish one paper per 6 months
Must progress a current research project and develop a new project.
Clinical experience
Must have worked in UK NHS system (or equivalent) and be competent in elective orthopaedic knee procedures.

We wish to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellow in Knee Surgery to post for a 6 months duration, with start date of February 2025.
The posts are based at Avon Orthopaedic Centre in the newly built Southmead Hospital. The appointment is based within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at North Bristol NHS Trust. This is the main Elective Orthopaedic Unit in Bristol and one of the Regional Specialist Orthopaedic Centre's in the UK.
It is a referral centre for knee revision and prosthetic joint infection and is well known for its partial knee replacement and patellofemoral surgery. It is a Major Trauma Centre as well as a regional centre for Neurosurgery and Plastic Surgery.
