What does a Senior UI Programmer at Cloud Imperium Games do?

  • Work closely with designers, artists, and other engineers to contribute to a shared vision for compelling User Interface
  • Implement functional and elegant UI features from design concepts
  • Develop new functionality in the underlying UI framework to support new gameplay
  • Designing and implementing well-engineered, reliable, scalable and robust code
  • Peer-reviewing technical designs and documentation with the help of the wider team
  • Identifying technical and developmental risks and obstacles while creating innovative solutions to overcome them
  • Drive engineering principles and practices for your teams, pushing boundaries and promoting new and innovative ways of working
  • Supporting our growth culture and advocating knowledge sharing

    Familiarity and demonstrable passion for UI
  • Comfortable working with C++ in a large, shared codebase
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and ways of working
  • Familiarity with common user interface concepts like layout, text, event-driven programming, and control widgets
  • Good knowledge of 3D engine concepts
  • Ability to work well in a co-located yet collaborative team environment
  • Aptitude to explain and present technical solutions to both programmers and team members from other disciplines
