Full Job Description

Are you a nurse or paramedic or a current trainee ACP interested in working in an Urgent Treatment Centre?

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse practitioner or paramedic practitioner or a current trainee ACP to work within the Urgent Treatment Centre.

The post is for a full time senior clinical practitioner to work within the Urgent Treatment Centres, which includes Ripley, Ilkeston, Whitworth and Buxton UTCs.

These units are nurse and paramedic practitioner led and are operational 7 days a week, from 08:00-20:00.

You will be required to be a clinical expert in direct patient care including the assessment, examination, documentation, prescription, implementation and evaluation of care and appropriate discharge of patients including adults and children, presenting with undifferentiated diagnosis both minor injuries and illness.

The Senior Emergency Practitioner will support the future development of clinical quality by directly supporting the development of staff learning and competencies within the Urgent Care agendas remit as Team Leader.

This will be achieved by providing effective clinical leadership and mentorship whilst working within the Urgent Care environment.

The Senior Practitioner will also be expected to have achieved Non-Medical Prescriber status, or working towards this qualification, along with Level 7 courses in Minor Illness and Paediatrics.

You will need to engage effectively with patients, peer groups, and service users in all elements of your role, leading by example and promoting a supportive and caring culture.

You must be flexible, enthusiastic, motivated and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.

We actively encourage applications from practitioners currently on the trainee ACP pathway. DCHS UTCs have a proven education programme and dedicator educators in place to support the completion of studies/portfolio
