Full Job Description

  • Develop and execute the category growth strategy, working cross-functionally with Buying, Retail, Merchandising, and other teams

  • Manage a portfolio of top vendor accounts, serving as the primary point of contact and driving mutually beneficial partnerships

  • Lead negotiations with vendors on commercial terms, promotions, and other strategic initiatives

  • Monitor and analyze category and vendor performance data to identify opportunities and make data-driven decisions

  • Collaborate with other category teams like L&G to ensure a consistent customer experience across the Tools and Home Improvement business

  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform category planning


  • A day in the life

    Managing and balancing a number of key priorities:
  • Deep dive analytics into financial reporting on business performance

  • Engaging with vendor partners to develop their business with Amazon

  • Working cross-functionally to develop customer growth projects

  • Leading Annual negotiations

  • Partnering with AVS-Brand Specialists leading the day-to-day vendor relationship to keep us on track to deliver the Vendor Improvement Plan (VIP)

We're looking for a mix of a SVM (Senior Vendor Manager) and a Category Manager who is a smart, proactive team-player to join our team and help us grow our EU Gardening and Landscaping Tools category within the Tools and Home Improvement business. As a Senior Vendor Manager, you'll work cross functionally with various teams and help us explore and launch exciting new initiatives in this innovative, "blue sky" category that requires someone who enjoys and excels at both vendor management and category management work.


  • You will also provide support to drive category growth through detailed inspection of business inefficiencies and identifying solutions; proposing changes to processes and driving a high standard in customer satisfaction.

    To achieve success in this role, you will have strong analytical, relationship management and organizational skills. You will work customer backwards. You'll be an analytics expert, identifying problem areas and then creating plans to find resolutions, with the ability to pick up new skills quickly. You'll have strong communication skills and a proven track record of building positive working relationships.,
  • Master's degree, or experience negotiating with internal and external stakeholders

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL

  • Experience with Excel

  • Experience in account management, project/program management, or buying

  • Experience using data to influence business decisions

  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration

  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership
