Full Job Description

  • be responsible for supporting teams throughout the organisation with the veterinary aspects of a dogs' journey through the rehoming process,

  • be responsible for the smooth-running of our supported vet care schemes, which provide financial support for essential veterinary care to owners and dogs in exceptional circumstances, working closely with both vets and adopters,

  • provide cover in our central pharmacy, including dispensing and sending medication,

  • We're looking for an enthusiastic, driven Senior Vet Nurse to join our veterinary team at our London office., To be successful in this role, you'll need to be a Registered Vet Nurse with significant experience, ideally in both the charity sector and recent practice experience. You'll have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team, with a flexible attitude and confident IT skills. You'll be self-motivated and have a genuine interest in the aims of Dogs Trust. Dogs Trust actively encourage professional development, with opportunities to work alongside our in-house behavioural teams, and a generous CPD allowance (including access to external opportunities). Additionally, RCVS fees for Vet Nurses are paid.

    About this team
    The Veterinary Department is a friendly team of veterinary nurses, veterinary surgeons and administrative staff working in the London Office. The primary responsibility for this team is to provide case guidance and management options for dogs within our care across our network of Rehoming Centres and other veterinary related schemes such as Outreach, Shared Adoption Scheme (SAS), Veterinary Support Fund (VSF) and the Emergency Trust Fund (ETF).
