  • As a Senior Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and guiding our veterinary team. Your primary focus will be to support the professional development of our new graduate veterinarians, ensuring they are well-equipped to provide top-quality care.   • Leading the team to manage a varied caseload and demonstrate ownership of their actions

  • Be responsible and accountable for the entire Veterinary team

  • Deliver top class clinical standards and client care

  • Responsible, accountable and confident in dealing with management of absence

  • Cover gaps in vet rota when/if other cover is not available

  • Assess and audit the Veterinary team regularly and take appropriate action immediately where necessary

  • Responsible for all required Veterinary duties to be completed each day

  • Confidently administer high level Veterinary care and monitor the progress of the animal

  • Prioritise first aid/emergency actions to stabilise and prevent animal discomfort

  • Interact effectively with the nursing team and understand importance of good nursing

  • Confident in all routine and non-routine consultations

  • Provide hands-on coaching and guidance to veterinarians and veterinary nurses, helping them develop clinical skills and confidence.

  • Design and deliver training sessions on the latest veterinary practices, procedures, and technologies.

  • Offer ongoing support to team members, assisting with complex cases and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

  • Assess the progress of team members and create tailored development plans to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Work closely with our practice management and clinical teams to ensure that all staff receive the support and training they need.

    As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our dynamic team., We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon that has proven experience in mentoring or coaching veterinary professionals, or similar environments. We are keen to help support and develop somebody so happy to consider individuals with lesser experience but keen to progress their clinical coaching expertise. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

    We require you to have a Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) and a full registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).

    Norwich is a lovely city to live and work in with what we think is the right mixture of city and countryside. We are 30 minutes from the beach, 15 minutes from the broads yet only 5 minutes' drive away from the city centre. In Norwich city centre we have an amazing array of shops for those that enjoy their retail therapy. We also have a wonderful cathedral and some beautiful architecture that you really should visit if you can.

    At Norwich Hall Road and Norwich Longwater, we are two of three Vets for Pets practices in Norwich and although we are situated inside Pets at Home we are individually owned and run.

    At the Norwich Hall Road branch, we have superb clinical and support staff to help you settle in quickly.

    There are 7 vets consisting of 5 experienced vets and 2 new graduates. Our vets have special interests in Dentistry, orthopaedics / surgery, and imaging. We also have 6 RVNs, 1 student nurse and multiple support staff.

    At the Norwich Longwater branch we have superb clinical and support staff to help you settle in quickly.

    There are 3 vets consisting of 2 experienced vets and 2 new graduates. One of our vets has a special interest in orthopaedics and surgery. We also have 6 RVNs, 1 student nurse and multiple support staff.

    We are a purpose-built practice; with all the equipment you would need and offer support and development from our highly experienced regional team to guide you in your transition to leadership. Partnership prospects may become available for the right candidate in the future. We also have ambitious expansion plans and are looking for somebody to be part of this exciting opportunity with us!

    We have a supportive, experienced team across the Norwich group with certificate holders in surgery and ophthalmology and 4 other vets currently studying for certificates. We have a brand-new ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, endoscopy, tonometry, slit lamp, multi parameter units in all theatres and full in-house laboratory., Pets just see people.
