Full Job Description

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 20 MONTHS (Fixed-term until 31st of March 2026) DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE, Working as a member of the Voice and Data team within the ICT department, specifically the ePMA project, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, installation, and on-going operational management and support of the Health Board's voice and data infrastructures.

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified, experienced, and self-motivated Senior Voice and Data Engineer to be based at either of the following BCUHB sites: Bangor/Abergele/Wrexham., Ideally, the post holder should have a relevant degree/HND and/or extensive equivalent experience of one or more of the following:

  • Data Networking Technologies (including LAN and WAN)
  • Network Protocols (TCP/IP and Ethernet)
  • Voice and Video Communication Technologies
  • Network Security Technologies (including Firewall and Intrusion Prevention Systems)
  • Wireless Networking Technologies
  • Additionally the post holder should have excellent trouble shooting and interpersonal skills as they will be required to provide specialist technical 3rd line support to departmental colleagues and 3rd party providers. The post holder may be asked to work across all BCUHB sites and locations, therefore the ability to access transport (public and/or private) to travel off site is essential.
