Full Job Description

Team working relationships.Communicate with parents/guardians, GPs and other external organisations in relation to enquiries concerning admission dates where on occasion there may be barriers to understanding and/or communication difficulties. The post holder will be required to communicate with and advise internally and externally with the following personnel:Patients, relatives and their significant othersPeer group Waiting List Co-ordinators, Admissions Manager,General Services Management TeamAll grades of Medical StaffNursing staff and Modern MatronsGeneral PractitionersClerical and Administration staffOther NHS Organisations Maintenance of waiting lists To be responsible for ensuring all relevant information is accurately recorded on to the Patient Administration and Theatre Systems where attention to detail is essential to:Check and update patient informationRegister new patientsRequest and distribute computer print outsRequest patient lettersAdd patients to waiting listsAllocate TCI

datesRecord 18 week wait clock and treatment status for each patientCheck and up-date Inter Provider Transfer data Ensure all recorded procedure codes are correctly identified and entered into the Patient Administration System. To use appropriate booking processes to facilitate the admission of patients adding, removing and suspending patients to and from the relevant waiting list where accuracy is essential. Ensure patients found to be unfit for surgery are correctly managed in line with the Trusts Patient Access Policy. Assist the Admissions Manager, Operational Manager and Service Managers in the administration and monitoring of the waiting lists in accordance with Trust guidelines identifying any potential difficulties in a timely manner. In liaison with the Operational Manager review clinical timetables and amend theatre lists according to clinical availability.
