As one of the country's largest waste and recycling collection services, we have a unique opportunity to drive sustainability and improve the environmental performance of our services by taking an integrated approach to collecting and managing household waste produced across the county. Reporting to the Head of Service for Waste Management, the Senior Waste Services Programme Officer will play a pivotal role in providing essential programme support, particularly within the context of the delivery of a complex and multi-faceted Waste Transformation Programme. You will also have responsibility for producing and maintaining the detailed Programme Plan and help manage the reporting of progress against project objectives, and regularly review and report any risks arising, all essential tasks for the successful implementation of a complex programme.
Our ideal candidate will hold a degree in a relevant field, or have demonstrable equivalent knowledge, skills and experience. They will also hold a professional Programme Management or Systems Thinking qualification or have relevant experience with such methodologies. Proven previous experience delivering complex project work programmes across multiple projects, will be essential. Excellent organisational and communication skills will be essential, alongside experience in building and maintaining effective partnerships including motivating and engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
