Full Job Description
You will be responsible for operating a variety of plant and equipment that will include a HGV, loading shovels, telehandlers, and forklift trucks for the efficient and effective transfer of waste from busy WTSs and RHWSs. The role will also involve maximising the recovery of recyclables from waste and safely controlling deliveries from private traders and district councils. In addition, the successful candidate will assist the management team in the supervision and coordination of site operatives., We are keen to support employees to balance their working life with other commitments. It is expected that the successful candidates will have previous experience of driving HGVs and operating loading shovels and telehandlers at waste or construction sites. However, training may be provided to suitable candidates that have no previous experience. The role requires a proactive, flexible, 'can do' attitude. Effective time-management and problem-solving skills are key attributes.,
- Experience of supervising operational staff and a knowledge of waste operations
- HGV licence and driver CPC, Loading shovel ticket, FLT licence (training may be provided to suitable candidates that do not currently have valid qualifications)
- WAMITAB CoTC Level 4 or above and Level 3 award in First Aid at Work, First Response or equivalent (or willing to work towards both as necessary)
- Basic and working knowledge of Microsoft Packages and IT, for example, Outlook, Excel and Word
- Working to and ensuring others follow, safe working procedures and risk assessments
