Full Job Description

This is a key role within Student Services, providing timely, specialist advice and support to students with mental health difficulties, and promoting the general health and wellbeing of all students. The primary function of the Wellbeing Service is running a daily drop-in service that is available to all AUB students., You will autonomously manage a specialist caseload working closely with colleagues to take responsibility for identifying and supporting students who may be deemed vulnerable.

We are looking for an experienced and skilled practitioner with an in-depth understanding of assessing individuals and managing the risk of students presenting with a range of mental health needs. You will have an ability to respond safely and appropriately to individuals experiencing complex mental health crises., We are seeking a resilient and motivated individual with experience of working with vulnerable individuals within a fast-paced environment. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team who work pro-actively to promote inclusion and ensure that best practice in supporting students is embedded across the University.
It is essential for the successful candidate to hold a relevant professional qualification. For example, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Health as well as demonstrating a good understanding of mental health and wellbeing, ideally within a higher education context. Significant experience of working with individuals with complex needs, in a fast-paced environment is also essential.
This position involves working with children (under 18s) / vulnerable people and therefore requires compliance with the University's Safeguarding Policies, including the requirement for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance prior to the commencement of employment. The University is committed to stringent Safeguarding practices, including in its practices around the recruitment and selection of staff, to positions which involve working with children and/or vulnerable people. The successful candidate will be required to complete AUB approved Safeguarding Training.
