Full Job Description

Essex County Council's Wellbeing, Public Health and Communities (WPHC) team are looking to improve and enhance the work we do with the NHS and other key partners in the West Essex Health and Wellbeing Partnerships.

The WPHC Business Plan identifies six key health risk factors (Smoking, High Blood Pressure, High Blood Glucose, High BMI, High Cholesterol, and Alcohol Use) that impact significantly on healthy life expectancy.

This role will be tasked to work with the West Essex Health Care Partnership, ensuring that within primary care and other delivery settings, there is a focus on these risk factors. The main function of the role will be to co-ordinate and drive work across the Alliance area addressing these six risk factors, increasing uptake of smoking cessation services, reduced smoking rates, increased levels of physical activity, improved diet, reduced alcohol consumption and reduced levels of high cholesterol, with the view that this activity will support a longer term and sustainable increase in disability free life expectancy and reduced premature mortality from preventable causes.

Are you ready to create positive change and be part of something bigger?
