Full Job Description

The role of Service Assistant (Cleaning) plays a key part of our patient experience. The successful candidate will work with our Service Assistants and will be jointly responsible for the cleanliness of Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

This is a physically demanding role with elements of reaching, crouching, operating cleaning equipment & mopping large surfaces etc, so candidates for this post are required to be relatively physically fit.

Within your contracted hours, you may be required to support in covering other wards or departments from time to time, dependant on requirements.

To be considered for this role, it would be advantageous if you have worked in a busy NHS setting or have experience in a cleaning or portering.

To be successful, candidates need to be able to demonstrate that they;

Are able to communicate verbally with others clearly & courteously.Are polite, reliable and responsible.Are able to understand how to maintain good working relationships.Have experience of working well in a team.Have the ability to comply with standard operating procedures and organisational policies.Be prepared to undertake training and development.

We offer varied shift patterns and hours of work to enable you to get the right work/life balance., Zone 1 - Rehab 2 Centre, 12.5 hours (0.33 WTE), 06.00-08.30, Monday-Friday, may include bank holidays (Clinical).

Zone 2 - Theatres, 12.5 hours (0.33 WTE), 17.30-20.00, Monday-Fridaymay include bank holidays (Clinical).

Zone 3 - Minor Injuries (Urgent Treatment Centre), 12.5 hours (0.33 WTE),06.00-08.30, 5 in 7 days, including weekends and bank holidays (Clinical).

Zone 4 - Podiatry, 12.5 hours (0.33 WTE), 17.00-19.30, Monday-Fridaymay include bank holidays (Clinical).

Enhancements for night time, bank holiday and weekend work are offered as a part of this role.

This is a physically active role with elements of operating cleaning equipment, carrying, lifting & moving patients & items.
