Full Job Description

  • To work collaboratively with IT, Business Intelligence, Education Quality and Performance Team, Operational Delivery Teams and with colleagues across the Council and Suppliers/Partners.
  • To have oversight of IT Systems across Children and Family Services Department, including linking in with the hosted supplier. The systems include Mosaic, Core+ and Synergy.
  • To hold the responsibility for updating and managing the Roadmap for the department's IT systems, logging requests, understanding wider implications and working with senior management to understand priorities of work across the multiple systems. To then subsequently plan in the IT developments as projects throughout the year/18 months and using existing governance structures to update the Senior Managers from across the department on appropriate progress.
  • Delivery of Children's and families' portfolio to improve and deliver sustainable business change initiatives and promote the effective and efficient delivery of projects and operational activities for all CFS business systems.
  • Demonstration of flexibility to deliver a diverse range of projects, and to support the Children's and Family Services department. Work with Senior Responsible Owners to ensure that projects are set-up effectively and that appropriate governance within the service area is in place to support the successful delivery of the project.
  • To lead a small team, delivering IT projects and/or pieces of work from across the department.

    To apply for this post, you must have:
  • Relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) in project management, change management, portfolio management.
  • Equivalent experience in management or delivery of projects or portfolio.
  • Experience of managing IT Business Systems - Detailed understanding of operational use as well broad requirements, functions, interdependencies, links, and cycle.
  • Be able to engage with stakeholders, including attending & producing materials for meetings, and dealing effectively with service issues.
  • Knowledge of Project management methodology, processes, and standards.
  • Have clear verbal communication including excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to negotiate, persuade and influence.
  • Ability to build powerful relationships with stakeholders, and to negotiate, shape and influence to achieve successful outcomes.
