Full Job Description

Horsham District Council is looking for a Service Design Manager to join the customer and digital services team. You will be responsible for applying, maintaining, and promoting good service design practice across the Council. This involves assisting service areas with business process design, systems configuration, development, implementation, and training of new technologies. This role will suit someone with experience of working in service design delivery in a complex technology environment and in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

As Service Design Manager you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the service design team and developing good communications strategies for ensuring that project decisions and progress are fully communicated establishing guidelines and standards. This role will involve mobilising and working in cross functional teams to determine the system requirements, developments, implementation, achieve buy in from all stakeholders, before handing the system over to the service area and colleagues in the customer and digital services team.

To succeed as Service Design Manager, you will have experience in working in service design/delivery and management working in a similar environment and strong analytical skills and ability to make sense of complex problems and experience of re-engineer processes, procedures and practices. You will also need experience in building and cultivating relationships with peers in the customer and digital services team, the wider Council and external stakeholders. You will require the skills to understand the business and knowledge of technical solutions available, the policies and processes in procuring and implementing systems to produce business cases., Disability Confident
