Full Job Description
Description: The Service Development Manager will join the Adults Division leadership team at a time of intense change. We need support to develop our services to reflect the needs of our citizens by working closely with them and listening to their experiences to deliver services that effectively and safely meet their care and support needs. During the past 12 months we have engaged differently with those that use our service, we wish to explore ways to further these innovative methods (where appropriate) and understand how we shape our future service models. This role will provide support to the Adults Services leadership team to implement new projects to transform our service models and practice in response to the pandemic.
Experience of working in social care
Knowledge of statutory social work functions
An ability to form productive relationships with variety of stakeholders
Demonstrable experience of change management and service development
Excellent communication and engagement skills, particularly around user involvement
Ability to motivate others to develop services
Excellent organisational skills

The Division of Adult Social Care within Social Services has a vast remit in order to meet the care and support needs of vulnerable adults across the Vale of Glamorgan. Our social care services operate in an integrated way across primary, community and intermediate care in the delivery of our services. We are currently developing a Vale Alliance to support this model of care. Our experienced teams of social care professionals work across case management, occupational therapy, reablement services, day opportunities and adult placement. We work with a passionate workforce, keen to develop services fit for the future needs of our population by working in partnership with other agencies and other Council and Health departments.
Pay Details: Grade 11 (£49,764 - £52805) p.a.
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: Monday - Friday 37 hours per week
Main Place of Work: Barry, although working across the Vale of Glamorgan
Temporary Reason: Short term grant funding. Up to 12 months
