Full Job Description

· Based at Mercian Close, Ilkeston, but likely to involve home working and travel to other locations.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new post supporting the financial needs of unpaid carers in Derbyshire.
The role is based within the Public Health department at Derbyshire County Council, to work closely alongside the Welfare Rights Service and Derbyshire Carers Association and joins a wide range of activity to address social, economic and environmental factors which impact on people's health. The purpose of the role is to work to improve the financial wellbeing of unpaid carers.
Key aims of the project are:
· to promote sources of financial support for carers, by organising and attending drop-in sessions, coffee mornings, roadshow events etc in partnership with Derbyshire Carers Association
· to respond to referrals for support by providing advice, signposting to specialist services and supporting individuals to apply for grant funding where applicable, alongside colleagues from Derbyshire's Welfare Rights Service
