Full Job Description

ABL Health will soon be launching a new Healthy Lifestyle service in Gloucestershire, commissioned by Gloucestershire County Council . This transformative service seeks to work collaboratively with communities to transform the lives of the local population. The service will support residents to help them lose weight, stop smoking, reduce alcohol consumption, get more active and improve their wellbeing - all embedded in sustainable behaviour change. The service will also deliver the 1001 days programme supporting families with healthy lifestyles through pregnancy to childs second birthday, as well as the Healthy Workplace award scheme This is a leadership role where the post holder will have a real influence on the clinical and operational excellence of the service. The post holder will take a pro-active lead in building relationships, partnerships and alliances in the community, secondary care, and primary care settings, and supporting specialist advisors to deliver outcomes that benefit clients referred to the service. They will be responsible for the line management of staff working across Gloucestershire.

The post holder must have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in public health or behaviour-change settings., An experienced senior leader with experience in delivering excellent healthy lifestyle services. across community settings Skilled in project management accustomed to using tools and processes to identify project goals, set and manage the schedule, anticipate, and identify issues, remove obstacles, delineate responsibility, track task completion, and communicate progress Experience in evolving and developing services within a complex health system.

  • A positive and proactive leader with the ability to motivate, engage and support teams to achieve the highest standards and outcomes .
  • A strategic thinker, able to foresee and take action to deal with problems and opportunities.
  • An adept communicator who adapts the message to fit the needs of the audience including clients, staff, volunteers and partner agencies
  • Results orientated and naturally seek quantitative goals and actively seek to outperform them.
  • Anexperienced health practitioner with a knowledge of smoking cessation, weight management or similar
  • Be able to build strong relationships, foster trust and co-operation among colleagues and stakeholders
  • Be quality driven; naturally seek high standards and actively seek to improve them.
  • Value and remain open tonew ideas and perspectives.
