An exciting position has become available within the Clinical Imaging & Medical Physics Directorate.

The pivotal role of the Radiology Service Manager is integral to the seamless operation of the Diagnostic Radiology Service, catering to both adults and paediatrics. This is a new position and will work alongside our current Diagnostic Radiology Service Manager.

At present, the Diagnostic Radiology unit comprises approximately 70 members of the administrative staff, spanning various bandings and serving multiple locations such as St. Thomas, Guys, ECH, and the Cancer Centre sites.

In this capacity, the Service Manager assumes comprehensive oversight, managing all aspects of performance and activities within the service, including DMO1 and Cancer performance.

One of the primary responsibilities of the Service Manager is to ensure the efficient and timely scheduling of patients, playing a crucial role in orchestrating appointments within the service.

The role also plays a critical part in overseeing both outsourcing and insourcing projects, encompassing the establishment of services and the guarantee of a secure and efficient delivery to patients.

We provide a full range of medical imaging services to help diagnose and treat people, including MRI, CT, US and X-ray Services. The Service Manager is a key role to ensure the operational performance of the directorate, as well as lead in a number of exciting transformational projects., Your role will be to operationally manage the department, providing clear leadership and ensuring delivery against our performance goals.

You will work closely with clinicians, nurses, managers and other staff across the Trust. You will provide leadership and expert advice to your teams to help deliver high standards of care.

The post holder will need to have experience of operational service delivery and needs to be flexible and adaptable to the requirements of managing a dynamic and fast paced service.

Outstanding communication and organisational skills are essential.

Experience in transformation projects will be beneficial.

You will have line management, budgetary and performance responsibilities.

You will need a clear and thorough understanding of NHS challenges and opportunities, and their particular relevance in this service area.

You will benefit from dedicated support from the directorate senior management team in delivering your objectives.
