Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager within our Commissioning and Infrastructure team within the Council's Adult Social Care directorate.

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic individual to provide support, development, and oversight to key operational areas within our commissioning and infrastructure service. This will include providing leadership to the brokerage function for residential placements, non-residential packages of care, and direct payments, the Adult Social Care payments team as well as the tendering and procurement of Adult Social Care contracts.

You will ensure that Adult Social Care is compliant, safe and helps people to achieve the outcomes that matter to them in their life. Through effective brokerage and tending of contracts you will help to maximise independence and ensure our services are able to prevent, reduce and delay the need for long term care. You will manage resources effectively and exploit opportunities to drive inefficiencies, manage and control costs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced leader who is committed to continuous improvement. You will have experience of working in local government, public sector or similar environment and have demonstrable experience of commissioning, preferably within Adult Social Care.

You will be an excellent communicator and used to working with a range of both internal and external stakeholders. Through collaboration you will manage and implement change working flexibly and developing innovative approaches.
