Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to join the care group on a fixed term basis for 12 months. This is a new post, the post holder will lead in the project delivery of a new paediatric dental surgical hub within South Yorkshire. Improving access to Paediatric Dental Elective Care is a key priority for the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Acute Federation. Children in South Yorkshire have some of highest levels of tooth decay and tooth extractions in the country. To tackle this challenge, we have secured £1 million of non-recurrent funding to support paediatric dental initiatives, including a pilot of a paediatric dental surgical hub. Together these aim to reduce waiting times and improve services so that all children can access care of the highest quality. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised individual with proven operational experience who can take a lead in project delivery. You will be an excellent communicator, with knowledge and skills in service and project management. You will have a collaborative approach and be able to bring people together from multiple organisations to achieve a common goal. Working with a team of clinical, operational and programme leads you will be well supported and have unique opportunities to develop your skills. In this role,you will be able to make a long-lasting difference to the lives of children and young people across the region., Working with other members of the Care Group Team, you will support in the planning and delivery of clinical services and ensure the achievement of key objectives. You will have a particular focus on delivering the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw paediatric dental project having a key role in the project team and collaborating with stakeholders across the region. This includes direct responsibility for ensuring that resources are utilised efficiently.

  • Operational Delivery - Working effectively as a member of the Care Group and SYB Paediatric Dental project team to ensure the delivery of high quality, patient focussed services at all times.
  • Planning -Support and facilitate change processes within the Care Group and for the SYB paediatric dental project.
  • Performance management - Manage specialty level team meetings and SYP paediatric dental project meetings to support performance management of services.
  • Ensure that robust mechanisms are in place to provide effective assurance to the Deputy Divisional manager and project leads about all performance issues.
  • Financial management -Support the management of the SYB paediatric dental project budget monitoring spend and managing the available resources, including the escalation of any variance from plan.
  • Workforce planning -Provide professional leadership to the administration team within the Care Group / SYB paediatric dental project.
