Full Job Description

We are delighted to offer the opportunity of joining DAS Division in the post of Service Manager for Theatres & Anaesthetics. This post involves cross site working and you will need to be able to travel between sites. This is an exciting time to join the team with a large investment in theatre services and the chance to support the development and opening of our new Sussex Surgical Centre in Eastbourne.
The post holder will need have current or very recent theatre or similar clinical area leadership experience. You will need to be able to work with the General Manager, Head of Nursing and Anaesthetic team to lead the Theatre Modernisation agenda and deliver on the productivity and efficiency objectives to achieve optimum scheduling and utilisation of theatres and anaesthetics resources.
The post holder will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to collaborate and work with a wide range of clinical services, the ability to analyse and present data, problem solve and be able to work under their own initiative.
We are a supportive and inclusive Divisional Team and would facilitate Senior Leadership development opportunities and agree a personal development plan., Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Service Manager for Theatres and Anaesthetics plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless delivery of theatres and anaesthetics cross site. Working alongside a Service Manager counterpart and with support from the Head of Nursing for Theatres and clinical lead of Anaesthetics you will immerse yourself in all aspects of the operational running of the cross site Theatre complex and Anaesthesia, from supporting projects to taking ownership of day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will span across various areas within the department and establishing relationships across the Trust ensuring robust systems and processes are in place to ensure safety, satisfaction, efficiency and productivity. This role requires enthusiasm, passion, and effective leadership to achieve an outstanding experience for our patients, staff and users. The Service Manager will support the General Manager, Clinical lead and HoN in the delivery
of the modern theatre agenda and key performance and efficiency objectives., + The healthcare provider of first choice for the people of East Sussex.
