Company: Finning (UK) Ltd Number of Openings: 1 Worker Type: Permanent Position Overview: As Yard Operator, your duty will be to maintain the cleanliness, tidiness and appearance of the site, its thoroughfares, and its working areas for the benefit of visitors and staff and to assist operations by performing general laboring work. Ensure incoming equipment, vehicles, and components are washed to a sufficient standard for safe working and to improve the appearance and value. Carry out basic facility maintenance and co-ordinate contractors for facility maintenance. Job Description: Working within an industry leading organisation at Finning, and the largest CAT dealership in the UK and Ireland, your role as Yard Operator will be to provide a service to all departments within the facility, supporting workshop engineers with carrying out machine movements, crane lifts, mobile crane lifts, lift truck movements ensuring all carried are out in a safe manner. Major Job Functions

  • Carry out tidying and smartening work on site areas visible to those passing and coming onto site to ensure the creation of a good initial impression of Finning. Assist in moving items around site, eg, office furniture.
  • Carry out housekeeping and rubbish clearance work in working areas, including servicing waste bins etc. and steam cleaning work bays.
  • Provide a labouring service, if needed, by working alongside Parts or Service staff.
  • Wash outgoing equipment, vehicles and components to the required commercial level.
  • Move machines, generators and other components around the site as required using the forklift.

  • Proficient in the MS Office suite of programs
  • Accountability To keep pathways, roadways and other vehicular/pedestrian areas safe by clearing them of mud, rubbish etc. and to engage in snow/ice clearance and gritting when needed. To use issued protective gear and work to safe routines in order to minimise risk to self, especially with equipment from landfill sites, and to add to power wash equipment the specified chemicals at specified times and dosage rates. To safely use power wash equipment and hand tools to dislodge and clean off external dirt and foreign matter from equipment, vehicles and components (using access equipment where needed), ensuring the requisite levels of cleanliness are met - especially with tracks. To carry out thorough biological washes to minimise the health risk to those who will be working on the items being cleaned. Education and Experience
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Forklift licence
