Full Job Description

  • To support the Service Recovery Supervisor & Senior Supply Chain Programme Manager to deliver the service of improving and managing the supply of medical consumables, establish new improved ways of working and plan, prepare and execute store room re-design and

  • You must be experienced in this type of project work in delivering service excellence in the internal NHS supply chain service and all its associated areas including receiving, checking, receipt, distribution, ordering, store management and maintaining appropriate stock levels.

  • IT literacy, across multiple systems, is important as the service has a growing reliance on systems and the integration of systems to improve efficiency.

  • To support the programme manager and supervisors to deliver the new and improved service.

    The Procurement & Supply Chain directorate currently have a fixed term (up to 31 March 2025) vacancy for a Band 4 experienced supply chain professional working with the supply chain service recovery and resilience programme in UCH/EGA. This role requires previous local supply chain management experience in an NHS environment and also previous substantial project delivery experience.


  • The programme is a major transformation of product management including store rooms and supply chain services within the building. Applicants must have a sound knowledge of supply chain/logistics practice and some management/leadership experience in the NHS or a similar large complex organisation. You must be confident, articulate and able to assess supply chain issues, make appropriate decisions, understand related systems, communicate effectively with customers and also support your colleagues. You will also be a key link between your customers and your supervisor and managers providing support, advice and cover when your supervisor is off site.
