Full Job Description

· To repair and maintain all equipment through a proactive approach of planned preventative maintenance with a "right first time" approach and to seek permanent solutions through a culture of continuous improvement. Ensure rapid response to breakdown situations and effective corrective maintenance regimes.

  • To enter all work carried out and parts used into Maximo
  • To be conversant and capable of working in all areas:
  • Conveyors
  • Automatic storage cranes
  • Palletisers
  • Robotic handling machinery
  • Manual handling aids
  • Build Reputation with Customers
  • Interface with customer in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ensure contract SLAs are consistently achieved and improved
  • Drive to Win
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance, corrective and reactive maintenance in timely manner as required.
  • Record all work done and parts used in CMMS system (Maximo) where applicable
  • Team Play
  • Provide cover for other service technicians / shifts when necessary.
  • Ensure thorough knowledge transfer through sharing of knowledge and information.

  • Carry out routine maintenance duties including, but not limited to: operational checks, functionality checks, cleaning, adjustment, lubrication and monitoring.
  • Look to find root cause of issues and find permanent solutions to issues encountered.

  • Ensure all company legislative Health & Safety regulations and policies are maintained.
  • Work in a safe considerate manner and leave all work areas clean and tidy at all times

    · To be proficient in all aspects of the operation and maintenance procedures.
  • · Electrical fault-finding and fault-rectification skills, including the replacement and configuration of field devices (motor controllers, sensors, scanners etc).,
  • Demonstrate problem/fault finding skills.
  • Understand how to collect, validate sufficient information to carry out effective root cause analysis and develop recommendations for implementation
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate precisely both in writing and verbally at all levels
  • Be computer literate
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Be able to plan and prioritise work load
  • Be able to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team
  • Be of smart appearance and behave professionally and be respectful to all people
  • Be experienced in the use of PPM systems
  • Essential Time served apprenticeship or equivalent City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 or above in maintenance mechanical/electrical discipline Previous experience within an FMCG manufacturing or automated warehousing environment A proactive approach to fault finding alongside excellent communication skills Be a team player with a flexible and pragmatic attitude Desirable 18th edition ONC/HNC or Advanced Apprenticeship Multiskilled in Mechanical and Electrical maintenance Have experience in using PLC's and diagnostics Have experience in training/coaching/mentoring
