Full Job Description
The Service Transition Manager plays a key role in being responsible for and driving all aspects of the service design and transition process within our project management framework. Reporting directly to the Head of IT Service Management, this role is integral to ensuring a smooth transition of service changes from the project phase-managed by project teams-into live service delivery, supported by our operational support groups. This role can be based anywhere but will be required to travel to site as and when required.What you'll be doing:
- Crafting Transition Roadmaps: Design and manage clear, comprehensive transition plans and documents to define expectations, scope, schedules, and budgets.
- Driving Key Processes: Lead crucial activities like operational acceptance, support requirement definition, change and configuration management, performance and risk evaluations, test management, and release planning-all the way through to early-life support and release reviews.
- Collaborating Across Teams: Work within the Service Management Office, seamlessly partnering with project teams, service owners, delivery managers, first and second-line support, change management, and infrastructure teams.
- Speaking publicly with Impact: Use your presentation and influencing skills to deliver outstanding service transition outcomes, even in fast paced environments with tight deadlines.
- Ensuring Operational Alignment: Keep project groups aligned with transition and operational support requirements, maintaining support awareness during project activities. What you'll bring:
- Service Transition Expertise: A solid track record in leading and running service transitions.
- Matrix Organisation Savvy: Proven track record to navigate complex matrix environments with strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Technical Competence: A sound understanding of core system architectures and the impact of emerging technologies-experience with enterprise-level applications is a plus!
- Analytical Approach: Strong problem-solving abilities with an interest in delivering innovative solutions.
- Effective Communicator: Confident in challenging the status quo and engaging with stakeholders at all levels. It would be great if you had:
- Cloud Transformation Experience: Knowledge or hands-on experience with cloud projects.
- ITIL Foundation Certification: A great advantage to complement your expertise.
