We’re recruiting for a Service Validation and Test Manager here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Technical Services team.
This role aligns against Test Manager from the Government Digital and Data Framework.
We design, deliver and support the core infrastructure and systems that enable End User Compute Services and line of business applications for over 100,000 Ministry of Justice users across over 1000 locations.

To help picture your life at MoJ Justice Digital please take a look at our blog and our Digital and Technology strategy 2025, + The role is responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring & control, review, and assurance of the testing of new and changed products within the Technical Services portfolio to ensure that Business & Technical requirements are met and that risk to the production environment is minimised. The products and services that you will be assuring are used by 100,000+ end users across the Ministry of Justice and will cover the end-to-end services of the following Service Streams:
+ Networks
+ Voice and Video
+ Hosting
+ End User Compute
+ Print
The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not restricted to:
+ Be the Technical Services’ Subject Matter Expert on all aspect of testing
+ Liaise effectively with technical delivery teams and business stakeholders
+ Assess technical and business risks and determine the level and areas of functional and non-functional testing appropriate.
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the multiple internal and industry-standard functional and non-functional testing frameworks and tools.
+ Manage test environment(s)
+ Implement functional and non-functional testing approaches in a DevOps and cloud-based environment
+ Assurance of third-party suppliers during Acceptance test phases;
+ Assurance of all test activities by internal and third-party supplier teams;
+ Raising & managing defects/incidents;
+ Production of management reports

A diverse panel will review your application against the Person Specification above.
Successful candidates who meet the required standard will then be invited to a 1-hour panel interview held via video conference.
Should we receive a high volume of applications, a pre-sift based on ‘ISTQB® certification at an Advanced level, or equivalent qualification / knowledge’ will be conducted before the sift.

+ Testing experience, both management and hands-on, in some, but not necessarily all, of the following areas:
o Networks

+ Experience of working in a DevOps and cloud-based environment using a Continuous Integration and Delivery/Deployment model
+ Ability to work across multiple project and testing teams, providing technical direction and support to define effective test approaches and plans
+ Good knowledge of risk management, defect management, task planning and measuring and reporting performance against key metrics
+ ISTQB® certification at an Advanced level, or equivalent qualification / knowledge

+ 37 hours per week and flexible working options including working from home, working part-time, job sharing, or working compressed hours.
