Full Job Description

Our Track Access Billings team analyse data from a number of sources to ensure the train and freight operators are invoiced correctly. Our Shared Service Administrators are responsible for ensuring accuracy of billing for train and freight operators. You’ll perform a varied role; review train journeys, analyse data, highlight and correct errors, perform audit activities and respond to queries. This is a very interesting role that provides insight into Network Rail’s railway infrastructure.

About the role (External)

This role sits within the our Shared Services team who deliver specialist processes that have a direct impact on the performance of Network Rail, our customers and suppliers. These services include payroll, recruitment and onboarding, payables, receivables, financial accounting, reporting, controls and compliance, and helpdesk support.

Are you detail-oriented and looking for a dynamic role in an essential part of the railway industry? Join Network Rail’s Track Access Billings team as a Shared Services Administrator!, • Great attention to detail and accuracy – analysing data and performing audit activities.
• Excellent Excel skills - proficiency with data manipulation, filters, pivot tables, V-lookups and the ability to reference data from one workbook to another. You will also use excel to analyse complex data sets and create invoice backups.
• Confident communicator – you’ll be dealing with queries from external stakeholders and will monitor a shared inbox. You’ll need good written and verbal skills: concise, clear and articulate.
• Organisation and prioritisation – you will have to complete tasks within specified timeframes and be used to KPI’s and SLA’s.
The Ideal Candidate
• Experience within a shared services environment
• Knowledge of the track access contract
• Experience of delivering continuous improvement programmes
• Experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite
Nice to have but not essential
• Occupational knowledge of subject areas
• Working towards or educated to degree level or equivalent
• Processing high volume activity
• ORACLE eBusiness Suite experience
