Torus is seeking a Sheltered Scheme Manager to join our Sheltered Team, where you can make a significant impact on the lives of older and vulnerable tenants.

As a Sheltered Scheme Manager , you will be part of our successful Support Network department, working closely with tenants, their families, and various stakeholders to deliver personalised support and interventions.

In this role, you will promote tenant independence, address concerns, and monitor changes in tenant needs. You will also foster community engagement by reducing social isolation and encouraging participation in activities both within the scheme and the broader community.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the scheme, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Our Support Network is dedicated to helping people remain safe and independent in their homes. We deliver housing-related support services to those needing extra assistance, whether short-term or long-term.

We seek a compassionate and proactive individual who can work both independently and as part of a team to support tenants over 55 in living independently.

This is a part-time role offering 22.5 hours per week.,

  • Triage frontline housing management services ensuring the schemes are fully compliant and signpost to the relevant specialist team.

  • Respond to day-to-day general enquires from residents, contractors and other external agencies whilst on site.

  • Respond to low level tenant disputes that arise overnight and or over the weekend and liaise with the Safer Estates Team.

  • Set up and attend monthly tenant engagement sessions. Set agendas and take notes from the sessions.

  • Assist in the letting process by completing risk and needs assessment to ensure appropriate lettings to minimise void levels.

  • Carry out joint viewings of properties with applicants whilst promoting the benefits of sheltered housing.

  • As part of the scheme induction, ensure new residents are able to manage the safety and security of their accommodation successfully including carrying out an inspection of the property.

  • Ensure residents understand how to operate communal facilities such as laundry equipment, kitchen areas and assisted bathing.

  • Deliver a case management approach that assists tenants to manage safely at home.

  • Carry out annual reviews with residents or as and when personal circumstances change to identify interventions that will assist the tenant to remain safe at home.

  • Carry out tenant daily wellbeing calls and checks based on assessed risk that promotes independence.

  • Respond to emergency calls via the emergency system when on duty.

  • Assist residents with sustaining their tenancy including explaining their rights and responsibilities within the tenancy agreement.

  • Ensure tenants have access to other services such as Adult Social Care to meet their housing need that enables the person to remain at home.

  • Assist tenants to complete referrals for aids, adaptations, and assistive technology.

  • Provide advice on low level rent arrears and liaise with the Income team.

  • Explain to residents how to register for on line digital services to enable them to pay rent and report repairs direct.

  • Triage domestic abuse incidents in line with company service standards' response times

  • CIH level 3 or willingness to work towards.

  • Demonstrable experience of working within a sheltered housing environment, housing and or social care sector, with older and vulnerable people.

  • Track record of completing assessments and developing support plans with targets and outcomes for clients.

  • Track record of managing caseload and multi-agency working.

  • Experience of crisis management, risk minimisation and making decisions in difficult situations.

  • Ability to keep up to date with organisational knowledge in relation to policy and processes to ensure sign posting to the appropriate business area.

  • Ability to listen, understand and signpost to meet the needs of clients.

  • Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding Practices and Procedures.

  • Track record of building a rapport with clients whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
